EventSpace app makes planning events easier by simplifying venue and event planner searches and bookings. It helps users find the perfect venue or planner for any occasion, read reviews, and communicate directly. This makes event organisation enjoyable.

Problem Statement
Finding suitable event venues in Nigeria is a challenging process due to the lack of online presence for many venues, forcing potential bookers to physically visit numerous locations.

A user-friendly EventSpace app that users can access verified event planners and detailed venue information, making the process hassle-free.

User Research
The primary objective of this user research is to understand the pain points users face when planning events and to gather insights into how EventSpace can address these challenges. This will be achieved through user interviews and analyzing user pain points. I conducted with 5 individuals who have recently organized events.
User Interview
Conducted a virtual interview with 5 potential users, emphasizing open-ended questions to ensure unbiased feedback. Some of the interview questions includes:
How do you typically search for venues for your occasions?
What challenges do you encounter when seeking the right venue?
How do you go about finding event planners?
What criteria do you consider essential before booking a venue?
Have you ever used online platforms to book event venues or planners?
User Pain Points
The user interviews provided valuable insights into the user pain points when planning events. There was a common thread of frustration among users regarding the process of finding and booking event venues and searching for quality planners. Several key themes emerged from their feedback:
A significant majority of those interviewed described the task of finding a venue as stressful and exhausting especially when encountering traffic.
Users also struggled with the challenge of comparing venues within their budget, finding the process time-consuming. The fear of booking an unqualified or incompetent event planner online added another layer of concern.
Users expressed a strong need for an easy way to confirm the quality of a venue without having to visit it in person.

Key UX Insights
EventSpace was designed to address user pain points in event planning, such as venue scouting, price comparison, checking out reviews and finding reliable planners. The app employs a simple and straightforward user flow that allows users to move effortlessly between different sections and features, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable user experience.
The most enjoyable aspect was transforming these problems into a seamless, intuitive app that simplifies event planning. Knowing that EventSpace can alleviate the stress and complexity of planning special occasions for users made the design journey incredibly fulfilling.
